How research worksOn January 14, 2026, widespread internet and mobile service outages affected customers of major U.S. telecommunications providers, including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, across multiple states. This market will resolve to “Yes” if it is discovered that the January 14 outages was caused by a hack by January 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. "A hack" encompasses intentional, malicious activity that caused the network outage. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from the U.S. Government, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T. However, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used to resolve this market.
